Entry Requirements

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is offered as an additional qualification for students on A-level, BTEC and Applied Study Programmes at Level 3.

Content

The EPQ qualification is the equivalent of half an A level and gets the same UCAS points. The projects that students can choose are agreed with their supervisor/teacher but they can be related to their existing subjects or something completely different; a performance, an investigation, an experiment or an extended piece of writing.

Outcome/Progression

The skills that students gain as part of the Extended Project include independent planning, research and analysis. Universities like these qualifications and often include them in offers for university places or additional bursaries. Employers like these qualifications because they show how independent our students can be and research skills can be used at work or as part of future study for example on an apprenticeship.
