EN scoops Gold School Games Award 2018/19

East Norfolk Sixth Form has been awarded the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Our sporting achievements this year include:

• Having 7 students representing the college and the East Region at the AoC National Championships, winning 2 Gold Medals and a Bronze in Cross Country and Squash.

• Our Women's Football team winning the Female Colleges FA People’s Cup.

• Being selected as one of the first Football Super Hubs in the country.

With many young people competing in local inter-college competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our students for their dedication to all aspects of college sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.

As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in the areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs, and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been rewarded this year.

A special thanks goes to all members of staff that have given up their time to attend regional and national competitions with our students. To all our specialist coaches who have delivered training sessions and who have created pathways for our students to attend clubs in the local community. Finally, thank you to our students who have been involved in sport and physical activity throughout the year and who have represented the college at regional and national level, you have been great!!

We look forward to applying once again in 2020!
