College joins tribute to much loved and respected colleague

Staff and colleagues from EN joined a special event to celebrate the life of Oz Osborne.

The Forum Norwich hosted the Celebration of Oz event on Monday, bringing together various agencies that Oz had worked with over the years, to celebrate the breadth and depth of his work.

Oz was passionate about championing difference and the ability for people to be all they want to be, and former colleagues vowed to continue his work. He had worked with staff to develop the College's Wellbeing Strategy and trained Wellbeing Agents in the Five Ways to Wellbeing.

East Norfolk Sixth Form College raised funds over the last few weeks and a cheque for £102 was presented which will go towards public support programmes.

The Forum was a hive of activity throughout the day, with a mix of colleagues, peers and the general public enquiring after the various agencies roles and Oz’s part in their programmes and development. People travelled from as far afield as London, Bristol and Glasgow to celebrate the life and work of Oz.

The event turned from a public to a private event for friends and family during the evening, with some poignant speeches from friends. The evening ended with pizza, beer and music – three of Oz’s favourite things.

The life of a dear friend, colleague and all round good human being was celebrated in a spirit he would have wanted.
