East Norfolk Sixth Form College student Lexie McLellan has returned from the World Martial Arts Games and only just missed out on a World Champion title.

Lexie was part of Team GB and competing against people from over 20 countries. She was entered in to six categories and managed to get podium places in four of these.

• Bronze medal in Creative Weapons Kata 18 - 40 years old female advanced grade.

• Bronze medal in Creative Traditional Kata 18 - 40 years old female advanced grade.

• Silver medal in Chinese Short Weapons Kata 18 - 40 years old mixed advanced grade.

• Silver medal in Japanese Bladed Weapons Kata 18 - 40 years old female advance grade.

She only just missed out on becoming World Champion in the Japanese Weapons by 0.1 of a point, the Gold medallist got 29.1 points and Lexie got 29.0 points.

Lexie was one of the youngest competitors in her categories so she performed amazingly well and exceeded all expectations.
