EN students continue to excel on Results Day

Students at East Norfolk Sixth Form College are celebrating yet another brilliant set of A level results with an overall pass rate of 99% and 45% of students receiving A*-B grades.

Students have continued to achieve these excellent results at a time when A levels have become more challenging. They also performed exceptionally well in the top grades, including three students achieving four A* grades and many young people achieving all A* or A grades in their subjects

30 A level subjects achieved a 100% pass rate which is a further increase on last year. In Maths qualifications over 60% of students achieved A* to B grades, Sociology students performed fantastically, with 95% achieving an A*-C, and Law students also shone with over 60% gaining a B grade or higher.

Other notable successes include A level English Language and Literature which both achieved a 100% pass rate and all Art subjects which saw over half of all students achieve A* to B grades. Criminology also achieved a 100% Pass Rate and 92% of the students achieved A*-C.

The Level 4 subjects, where students develop a higher level of learning and understanding in their chosen subjects, achieved fantastic results. The Foundation Diploma in Art secured a 100% pass rate for the third year in a row, and the Foundation Diploma in Games Development saw 100% of students passing and achieving higher level skills.

East Norfolk Sixth Form College Principal, Dr Catherine Richards, said: “I am absolutely delighted by this year’s results. Our students have achieved fantastic grades, which is recognition for their hard work and determination to succeed and the dedication of our highly skilled staff to support our students and their aspirations.”

As the top college locally for progression, 10 students have been offered places at Oxbridge to study subjects ranging from Medicine, Maths, Natural Sciences, English Literature, History and Politics and Chemistry (six have been confirmed so far). Six students who applied for Medicine have all been offered places at their chosen universities. Many others are leaving the college to gain employment and apprenticeships having achieved impressive grades.

All of our students are encouraged from the moment they start at EN to see themselves as achieving at the highest level, including going onto the most competitive universities. We stretch and challenge them to achieve the very best results.

The College is increasing the Enhance programme for all new students this year. With more than 25 different options on offer to support their wider language and progression after EN including additional qualifications that may be taken and other skills for example learning Mandarin, Latin and Beginners Spanish. With the addition of the Combined Cadet Force and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, the College continues to offer the widest range of opportunities to develop a range of skills to make them more rounded individuals.
