We are looking to increase our bank of cover teachers in all subjects. The cover teachers will plan and deliver high quality effective teaching and learning, enabling students to enjoy learning and achieve their full potential. Hourly rate £13.60 up to £22.75*

*rates are based on qualifications and experience and will be within the Sixth Form Colleges’ Teachers’ scale range.

                             

Essential requirements:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent and able to teach on a range of courses within the subject area
  • Those teaching a specific subject exclusively or principally are required to hold a degree in a relevant discipline which contains a significant element of the study of the specific subject area
  • For teachers for whom the specific subject area is a minor part of their teaching commitment, evidence of relevant skills or experience may be appropriate, such as a good A level pass in the subject or previous teaching in the discipline
  • Teaching qualification or commitment to gaining Level 5 teaching qualification (Diploma in Education and Training) within two years of appointment essential.

 Full time, term time plus 5 INSET days, fixed term from September 2018 until July 2020 (end of 2019/20 academic year). Actual salary in range £16,295 up to £18,191.

                  

The postholder will support students in class with learning in their area of teacher training development. They will supervise prepared lessons and tutorials in the absence of teachers. The postholder will be expected to gain an initial teaching qualification (Level 3 Award in Education and Training) during the contract, which will be funded by the College. Reception ApprenticeFulltime - ATS

Temporary, 37 hpw, term time plus 2 weeks from 10 September 2018. Rate of pay will be in accordance with nationally agreed rates for Apprentices.

                        

The postholder will support the Executive Assistant with a range of administrative duties related to the effective operation of Reception. They will provide general administrative support and study towards a Level 2 Diploma in Business and Administration.

  • Level 2 award in Food Safety in Catering
  • A good knowledge of health and safety relevant to the role

Combined Cadet Force School Staff Instructor (SSI) and Duke of Edinburgh Activity Coordinator (DEAC)

Full-time or Part-time (to be discussed at interview depending on skills and expertise), term time only, fixed term from September 2018 – August 2020 (in the first instance), salary in range £23,851 up to £26,330 (fte)*

*up to 51 additional days remuneration can be claimed from the MoD.

                                       

The applicant is likely to be an ex-Senior Non Commissioned Officer with military background. They will play an integral part in growing and developing the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), working with the Contingent Commander, CFAVs and the 7th Infantry Brigade HQ East and Cadet Training Team. They will be responsible for the day to day running of the CCF, including parade sessions, expeditions, training courses and recruitment. The postholder will also provide specialist knowledge, support and training for the practical elements of the Duke of Edinburgh Award, liaising closely with the Duke of Edinburgh Administrator in the Work Related Learning team. They will arrange and lead expeditions and undertake appropriate training and development for students.

                                      

Essential requirements:

  • Senior Non Commissioned Officer with military background (ex-regular or Reserve Forces)
  • Sound knowledge of military systems and processes
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent at Level 2 awards) or willing to work towards
  • Full, clean driving licence (including D1 and access to own vehicle)
  • First Aid qualification (or willing to obtain)
  • Knowledge/understanding of health and safety and risk assessments
  • Extensive armed forces experience
  • Experience in presenting/delivering information/training
  • Good level of IT skills, competency using MS Office and ability to learn new systems as required

  • Good working knowledge of current Windows operating system and Adobe products
  • Experience of working with computers and fault-finding/ seeking solutions to problems
