Travel to East Norfolk

East Norfolk is served by a wide network of buses in Norfolk and North Suffolk which bring students to the College from the surrounding villages and towns. The College liaises with Norfolk County Council and Suffolk County Council as well as the local bus companies to ensure that travel is quick and easy.

Bus Pass Eligibility

Travel to East Norfolk is subsidised or free for all students living at least one mile from the College.

To qualify for free travel, students must:

  • Live at least one mile (within reason) from the College
  • Have applied and been approved for the College’s Bursary Fund, please click here for further information
  • Have applied for a bus pass and been approved by Norfolk or Suffolk County Council or East Norfolk Sixth Form College (please see below).

    Norfolk Students

    If you live over one mile from the College in Belton, Burgh Castle, Caister, California, Great Yarmouth, Hemsby, Hopton, Martham, Newport, Ormesby St Margaret, Scratby, West Somerton or Winterton applications for a bus pass will be made to East Norfolk Sixth Form College.

    If you do not live in one of the above areas please apply onlinehttps://www.norfolk.gov.uk/education-and-learning/school-and-college-transport/post16-travel-scheme.

    If you do live in one of the above areas, please follow the below steps:

    1. For transport arrangements for students living in the above areas please click here (PDF document)
    2. To apply to East Norfolk Sixth Form College for a bus pass please click here
    3. Students who believe that they are eligible for free transport will need to fill in an East Norfolk Sixth Form College Bursary Application Form and return it to the College with appropriate evidence. For more information please click here

    For other students there is a charge of £333 for the whole year. For all students any remaining cost will be paid to Norfolk County Council or First Buses by East Norfolk Sixth Form College.

    Suffolk Students

    Please follow the below steps:

    2. To apply to East Norfolk Sixth Form College for a bus pass please click here
    3. Students who believe that they are eligible for free transport will need to fill in an East Norfolk Sixth Form College Bursary Application Form and return it to the College with appropriate evidence. For more information please click here.

    For other students there is a charge of £333 for the whole year. Any remaining cost will be paid to Suffolk County Council, First Buses or Anglia Bus by East Norfolk Sixth Form College.

    Core Routes

    Norfolk County Council operates a system of core routes. Any student who lives within the core route area will receive support from Norfolk County Council and the College providing they live at least three miles from the College. Students who live outside the core route area may not receive financial support to get them to the nearest bus stop within the core route area.
